Kaddu passionately emphasized the critical importance of skills development for Uganda’s youth and shared how strategic partnerships, like theirs with the Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU), are changing lives.

The Work Readiness Program: Preparing Youth for the Job Market 

Through the Work Readiness Program, Allround Consult and PSFU are providing young people with a clear path toward employment:

  • Paid Internships: Students are placed in real-world work environments where they are given the chance to apply their academic knowledge.

  • 50% Support: PSFU covers half of the internship costs, making opportunities more accessible to both companies and students.

  • Evaluation for Retention: Interns are assessed over six months based on discipline, teamwork, and professionalism, and high performers have a chance of being retained in full-time roles.

This program directly addresses the often-discussed "skills gap" by equipping youth with practical, employable skills.

Sharing his personal journey, Kaddu recounted how an internship at Uganda Christian University (UCU) opened doors for him in the world of public relations.
He emphasized that discipline — both during his internship and throughout his career — played a defining role in his success.

The Need for Multi-Skilled Professionals 

Kaddu also pointed out that today’s employers are looking for multi-skilled individuals.
